At Integrative Release, we believe that alignment restores the body’s natural intelligence. Our focus is bodywork, deep-tissue integrative sessions, and workshops/training for manual and movement professionals. When the body is in balance, it becomes an adaptive, self-healing system that supports movement, circulation, and vitality.

INTEGRATIVE RELEASE METHOD (IRM)

Developed by Taylor Whitney, the Integrative Release Method™ (IRM) is a form of slow, deep tissue bodywork designed to release, align, and restructure the fascia system. Fascia isn’t a single layer; it’s an intelligent, multi-dimensional network that surrounds and integrates every muscle, bone, organ, vessel, nerve, and even individual cell. When fascia becomes restricted through injury, surgery, poor posture, emotional holding, or overuse, it can distort the body’s structure and limit its natural flow. This tension often expresses as pain, immobility, poor movement patterns, or resistance to healing on physical, emotional, or energetic levels.

Through IRM, we realign and rehydrate the fascial system to restore fluidity, balance, and harmony within the body.

WHAT WE DO

Integrative Release is a form of therapeutic bodywork focused on the fascia—the connective tissue system that surrounds and integrates every muscle, joint, nerve, and organ in the body.

Unlike traditional massage, Integrative Release is not primarily about relaxation. Sessions are slow, intentional, and assessment-based, working with the body’s structure, movement patterns, and nervous system to address the root causesof pain, restriction, and compensation.

This work is especially helpful for:

  • Chronic aches and pains

  • Postural imbalances

  • Athletic overuse or recovery

  • Injury history or surgery compensation

  • Limited mobility or stiffness

  • Feeling “stuck” or disconnected in your body

Each session is fully customized. Tools such as myofascial release, deep tissue techniques, cupping, and scraping may be used when appropriate (always with intention, not just as add-ons).

OUR APPROACH

My technique looks and feels different from a traditional massage, because the intention is not relaxation alone but rather release, decompression, and restoring mobility in the fascia —

Pre-Session

  • Intake & Assessment: We review your pain, posture, injuries, movement restrictions, or stress patterns. We often observe your standing posture, gait, or range of motion.

  • Goal Setting:  We’ll focus the session around what you’re treatment goals are—pain relief, mobility, athletic recovery, or general tension release. I tend to focus on 1-3 major epicenters of pain or restrictions per session.

During the Session

  • Environment: Unlike spa massage, we use less oil or balm—sometimes none at all—since grip on the skin is key to accessing fascia.

  • Technique:

    • Slow, sustained pressure with hands, forearms, knuckles, or tools.

    • Gliding + stretching the fascia.

    • Cross-fiber techniques that move perpendicular to muscle direction.

    • Skin rolling, cupping, and tractioning to lift and separate tissue layers.

  • Integrative Release is collaborative. You may be asked to take slow breaths, gently move a limb, or provide feedback about sensations (like pulling, heat, or release).

Post Session

  • Integration: The most important part of the session, integrating the work. You’ll receive after-care instructions and recommendations based on your unique case.
